This piece tries to express the deadening experience of indefinite incarceration, the loss of definition and personality, the claustrophobia, the Kafkaesque hopelessness of being separated from the world of light and agency which always seems to be going on somewhere else, just out of reach.
TOR LARSEN BIOGRAPHY
Tor worked for some years in the film industry in a variety of capacities from the art dept. to production. He takes much of his visual inspiration from the
cinematic/theatrical traditions, heavily influenced by the box art of Joseph Cornell and a long-standing interest in kinetic mechanical constructions. His work explores historical moments and contemporary topical issues through a range of satirical, humorous, philosophical and often dystopic metaphors and symbolism.
